What is the role of the Accor Foundation? Who can ask for help from the Foundation? Where does the Foundation intervene? What kinds of projects are eligible for support? Who receives funding? What is the process of selection of a project?
Here are the answers to all these questions:
What is the role of the Foundation?
The Accor Foundation exclusively supports projects proposed by employees with technical and financial resources.
“Employee” means anyone working for the Accor Group, in any Group office or hotel in any country. Franchises are also welcome to apply for Accor Foundation support.
The Accor Foundation welcomes requests for advice and financial assistance from Accor employees who are involved or wish to become involved in solidarity projects on the 5 continents.
All forms of projects – from €500 – may find their place within the Accor Foundation.
We will also be happy to discuss your project and provide the tips you might need to get it off the ground faster.

Who can ask for help from the Foundation?
Any Accor Group employee or franchise with an idea that fits one of the Foundation’s 3 fields of intervention is welcome to apply for support – as long as you are locally and personally involved in the project you want to propose.
Where does the Foundation intervene?
The Foundation is active in any of the countries where Accor operates.
What kinds of projects are eligible for support?
The project must benefit to a non-profit organisation and cover one of the following three fields of intervention:
- Local know-how
Supporting socio-economic initiatives highlighting traditional crafts and techniques. - Training and insertion
Encouraging integration and insertion of young people in difficulty aged 15-30. - Humanitarian and emergency
Helping populations in great difficulty and answering to humanitarian disasters.
Who receives funding?
The Foundation funds the beneficiary (non-profit association or NGO) directly. No funds are ever paid to Accor employees.
4 steps for a project:
1/ Receiving the project form
The Foundation receives Project application through email, post or fax. Forms must be fully completed and all documents required must be attached.
2/ Verifying eligibility
The Foundation team first checks that the project proposed fulfils the following criteria: field of intervention, country of intervention, involvement of group employees.
3/ Assessing the project
The Foundation assesses the project and asks the Regional Expert concerned for their recommendation.
The expert comes from the region concerned by the project or has worked there for several years. He acts as an interface between the Foundation and the local employees, providing information and advice. Fully familiar with the associative sector and the local environment, he identifies actions likely to be of interest to the Foundation, assesses them and issues his or her recommendations.
4/ Selecting the project
The project is evaluated and chosen for a final selection.
2 possibilities:
- The project requires funding under €20,000
The project is presented for consideration to the Selection Committee, which meets every three months. If the project is selected, funding can be made available in a matter of weeks following the decision. - The project requires funding equal or over €20,000
The project is presented for consideration to the Board of Directors, which meets at least twice a year.
