Sport dans la Ville - (Sport in the City)
Implementing a travelling bus to help reading and writing activities
Since 2006, more than 20 employees from Lyon have been working with organization “Sport dans la Ville” (Sport in the City), by sponsoring young people and participating in football tournaments. Its objective is to promote sports as a vector of social and professional insertion, through the development of sports centres in difficult neighbourhoods and the organization of sports animations.
To answer the request of our Lyon staff members, Accor corporate Foundation has decided to provide 35,000 euros in financial support for the “Apprenti'bus” initiative by “Sport dans la Ville”, a new literacy help program based on a mobile bus which offers reading and writing workshops every evening of the week. The program will benefit 150 young people in the Lyon area.
