Re-integrating single mothers by learning traditional know-how
Solidarité Féminine is a Moroccan NGO established in 1985 to help promote women’s and children’s rights and to prevent the children of single mothers being abandoned. Single mothers are the most excluded from society and are denied rights without access to the labour market. Solidarité Féminine supported by Accor Morocco offers them professional training over one year including apprenticeships in two social micro-enterprises belonging to Solidarité Féminine: a traditional Moroccan pastry unit and a venue for care / massage.
Over 2 years, the Accor corporate Foundation project’s objective is the self-reliance and social and economic reintegration of 75 underprivileged single mothers (aged 16 to 30) by access to professional training programs resulting in activities that generate income focusing on traditional Moroccan expertise: ‘family’ catering, care, well-being and beauty.
This expertise will be capitalised through the publication of a ‘solidarity’ book of traditional cookery recipes and beauty products
This project is within the scope of “Local Know-how”
Support from Accor Foundation: 50 000 € over 2 years
