Ivoire Développement Durable

Creating a paying activity from food crops

Ivoire Développement Durable is an NGO established in 2007, which aims at promoting sustainable development and strengthen Ivory Coast capacity to document and complete viable economic projects. The NGO has supervised the planting of “10,000 trees for Ivory Coast” in 2007 and 2008 at the request of Accor Africa.

Accor Foundation brings its support to Ivoire Developpement to help  30 young people from 3 villages :Ebimpé (south), N’Doukahakro (in the Center), Damé (East)  and by extension, the village communities concerned with a paying activity based on local crops.

Organised into cooperatives, these will be managed and trained to grow local crops: hevea, almonds, plantain bananas. They will sell produce at local markets.

Accor Foundation will assess project progress every two months (stability of young people, yield per hectare) thanks to Luc Lamorille, deputy director, Accor Ivory Coast and three staff members who came from these villages.

This project is within the scope of “Training & Insertion”

Support from Accor Foundation : 25 000 € over 3 years
