Vocational training to young people on the streets in the service activity
Virlanie Foundation enables children to leave the street behind and escape violence, drugs, prostitution and paedophilia networks. The final goal is to enable children to return to their families. The Virlanie's vision is to empower children with hope for a brighter future, take care and look after children in need of special protection particularly the poorest of the poor. Bernd Schneider, Delegate General Manager, Accor Philippines and General Manager of the hotel Sofitel Philippines Plaza Manila, as well as all of the hotel employees are involved with Virlanie Foundation and their activities on behalf of children.
The YAP programme (Young Adult Programme) is aimed at enabling 58 young people from 15 to 22 years old to live independently by training them in the services trades and helping them to fit into business life. To that end, this programme is being carried out over a period of three years with three focuses:
- personal development of the young people and increasing their abilities,
- individualised accompaniment of adolescents in their training and career plans,
- placement of adolescents within businesses.
This project is within the scope of "Training and Insertion"
