Association culturelle des Haïtiens de France
“Urgence Haïti”
Association Culturelle des Haïtiens de France promotes Haitian culture and history through exhibitions. It also helps eliminate illiteracy and facilitates the administrative procedures of Haitians in France. Annabelle Raphaeli, receptionist at the Mercure Noisy le Grand, France, is very involved with this association. After the earthquake of January 12, 2010, , she held a fund raising and basic commodities collection event on February 20 for an orphanage in Carrefour, near Port-au-Prince (an area that was 80% destroyed by the earthquake).
Annabelle Raphaeli then asked the Accor Foundation to help the association ship the 250kg cargo to Haiti. This project, baptized “Urgence Haïti”, supplied the “Camp de David” orphanage with basic commodities (food, water, medicine, tents, clothing, shoes, toys, etc.), thus helping over 200 children.
This is a “Humanitarian and emergency” project.
The Foundation’s contribution: €1,150.
