“Oxygène”
ACLEFEU is a French association that has been working for five years to rekindle bonds in inner cities between young people and their families, the local population, the authorities and the business world.
Their first local initiative was a friendly debate (“café-débat”) organized in 2009.
Omar Ilikoud, General Manager of the hotelF1 in Clichy-sous-Bois, France, is the president of this association. He asked the Accor Foundation to support ACLEFEU’s “Oxygène” project for the second year running. “Oxygène” is a scheme that offers young people and their families the opportunity of a summer holiday away from their inner city estates, in a bid to rekindle family bonds. This year, the association is offering 18 families a stay in Vendée, France, from July 3 to August 7, 2010. During the trip they will visit a water park, the Puy du Fou amusement park, take part in sports activities, and see tourist attractions. These activities are designed to stress the importance of “family time”. ACLEFEU also encourages families to take part in a variety of workshops (good citizenship, education for young children, adult literacy, etc.).
This is a “Training and insertion” project.
The Foundation’s contribution: €8,000.
