Association

Rugby Club Massy Essonne (RCME) is a French association created in 1971 with the missions of playing Rugby and promoting and training young people in difficulty in the region.

Project

In June 2010, RCME organised the “Partners Tournament 2010” grouping together the club’s partner companies and authorities, local companies and young people looking for a job.

This event was made of 2 parts:

  • the Job Forum: young people looking for a job, mostly from difficult neighbourhoods, came to meet the participating companies;
  • the Flag Rugby Tournament: the companies and young people who attended the Forum participated in this Tournament. Flag Rugby is a derivative of Rugby Union.

RCMEIn order to continue this action, RCME is organising, thanks to the funding of the Accor Foundation, the 2nd edition of this event (in June 2011): “Cohesion Tournament 2011”.

750 young job-seekers (from Local Missions, neighbourhood homes, local associations…) and some thirty private and public structures (army, gendarmerie, fire brigade, Mercure, Bridgestone, Société Générale, Bouygues Immobilier…) are expected.

The objectives of this event are to:

  • put companies and young job-seekers into contact;
  • boost local economic life;
  • develop actions in favour of the region’s youth (sponsorship, sandwich contract, etc.) ;
  • strengthen ties between “companies-youth-RCME” by having them participate in a sports tournament together.

An Internet portal dedicated to companies and young people will also be created. It will allow all of the participants to connect with each other after the Forum and will let RCME track young job-seekers. It will also be used to collect CVs, post job offers online, organise company visits…
