Focus on FC Bavaria Werkvolk
A professional edge for Bavaria Werkvolk, a football club.
Markus Kostka, Human Resources Project Chief, Accor Germany.
FC Bavaria Werkvolk was established in 2003 to promote social integration for youths and grownups on the fringes. Today, this club counts 48 members from 11 countries, and is inter alia working with “Drogenhilfe Regensburg”, a local association working with people trying to overcome addictions to drugs.
The facts that it is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary and that its membership has been growing non-stop since its inception have prompted FC Bavaria Werkvolk to set its sights on playing against professional clubs in Regensburg – and, indeed, all of Bavaria.
The Accor Foundation’s financial support will allow this club to rent and maintain its own pitch (so far, it has been training in a public neighbourhood park), buy new kits and jerseys, and play away matches (pay competition fees, rent vehicles, cover accommodation…).
