On April 16, 2011, la Compagnie du Labyrinthe has received a donation of €14,000 from the Accor Foundation to support “Les Enfants des Vermiraux“, a play, to promote sidelined-youth integration.

Compagnie du LabyrintheProposed by Alain Gehin (General Manager ibis Auxerre Centre), the project “Les Enfants des Vermiraux“ belongs to Culture and heritage category.

A century after the “Vermiraux affair”, La Compagnie du Labyrinthe has reconstituted the 18 July 1911 legal proceedings and is staging them in a play by the association’s artistic director Serge Sandor. This project involves youths in difficulty from the Établissement de Placement Éducatif in Auxerre and the Maison d’Arrêt in Joux-la-Ville (two detention centres), who will be contributing to writing the script, making the backdrops and acting in the play. Youths from local secondary schools, workshops and choirs in nearby towns, and at the École des Planches in Avallon (a theatre association) are also working on this project.

The show will take place on 30 June and 6 July in Quarré-les-Tombes and on 1, 2, 3 and 4 July 2011 in Avallon.

La Compagnie du Labyrinthe is an association that is active in France, across the rest of Europe and worldwide, creating, promoting and producing live performances and running training courses.
